While you have been out and about in town have you noticed that the decor went from the haunted Halloween to cheery Christmas? My friends, what happened to Thanksgiving? It's in there too. I think I understand where the retail people may be coming from. Halloween has loads of fun decorations and so does Christmas, but Thanksgiving, well its just a bunch of food and leaves. However, if you happen to be like me and live in the arctic (Rexburg is close enough, trust me!) then you will have a white fluffy-freezing Thanksgiving that resembles a white Christmas. So If Mother Nature is going to forgo the Thanksgiving decor, than so am I.
Which brings be to the reason why I am so excited. Over the years I have made it a tradition to attend Michael McLean's
The Forgotten Carols, I just can't get enough! It's the perfect start to the Christmas Season. I swear every time I hear the guest choir sing Handel's Hallelujah Chorus I get chills all over and I am moved to tears. November 30 is the blessed day this year. My roommate and I will be making the trek to Idaho Falls to attend my favorite Christmas tradition. Oh, I just can't wait!
