Summer Break

well i am back in Phoenix this summer and i got and internship working for the same company as my mom. I am working in the credit department as a clerk. Basically when companies don't pay their entire bill, i have to do pounds of paperwork so that the company can get the money or find out if we billed them wrong. The job is not incredibly exciting but its not very difficult either. The best part is that i sit in the cubical next to my mom so we can chat during the day and eat lunch together. This is probably the most I have seen her in a long time, now that is priceless!

The Good Samaritan

After playing in Salt Lake we left Sunday after church to drive to vegas. We attempted to break what would have been a 16 hr. trip for me into 2 days. I had already driven 4hrs by the time I picked her up in SLC.

On our way to Vegas my little red car (RUDY) broke down!!!! I burned my harm badly on the engine and was in an extreme amount of pain, when a lovely couple stopped to help us. I was absolutely useless so Vanessa explained the problem. After being stopped for 3 hrs! we ended up towing the car and paying a auto repair shop to fix my alternator and water pump belt (which i had a spare part in my trunk, thanks dad!)

Vanessa wanted to stop in cove fort, so i guess she got what she wanted, i would have rather of stopped on less expensive terms.

however the couple that helped us was so kind and considerate. she had "dragon blood" which is a sap from a tree in Peru used to treat burn, it relieved so much of the pain! and gave us some money.

I felt like i should have paid them.

what a perfect example of being true Christians! they are such wonderful people, I am so greatful they stopped and for all of there help. We were truly blessed that day!

BIRTHDAY FUN!

Yeah for birthdays! I had always been sad that my birthday was in the summer, silly right? The summer is usually the nicest time of the year and no school, they both sound great. Wrong! I am sad that i am out of school for my birthday and no one is ever in town. This year finals ended on the 18 so everyone was LONG gone by the 19th including me!

So this year i tried something new... people came to me. Well actually just my sister vanessa came but we had a blast! I picked her up from the Salt Lake City airport the morning of my birthday, we headed to temple square and proceeded to tour the grounds and enjoy the sites. we got to see the home of the late Brigham Young, tour the visitor centers, enjoy the beautiful grounds and my favorite part, we ate lunch at the LION HOUSE! This is by far the best place to eat right by the temple, we had so much fun!

FYI: we did take lots of pictures, i will post them asap.

Last Weekend of Summer Semester

I am done with classes and well into finals! Summer semester has been a lot of fun and full of growth. Last weekend my roommate Jillian and I went to Idaho Falls for the ward closing social and then met up with Drew,played in the city and took some pictures. The three of us have tons of fun together. ENJOY!

Fun with Family

I had the best 4th of July weekend, I spend it with the Ashby family in Utah. It has been a while since I have gotten a chance to really visit with Lisa and Devin. On the morning of the 4th we all went into their backyard and weeded their garden. I had zero experience gardening and it was such a blast. It is so nice to work outside with family and grow a beautiful garden. While Lisa and I diligently pulled weeds Devin took the girls while he picked cherries in a vacant neighboring lot. The cherries were delicious!

On Saturday morning Lisa and I went to Gardner Village with the little girls. Gardner Village is a great little shopping village in West Jordan, Utah. The shops are cute house looking building that are have an open floor plan perfect for a quaint little store. Through the middle of the village is a stream with a seasonally decorated bridge. We had such a great time going to all the stores. The village is full of crafty decorating ideas. Some of my favorite shops there are HEELS N' TOES, THE VILLAGE WHITES SHOPPE,THE GATHERING PLACE, DOWN TO EARTH and SWEET AFTON'S. If you are ever in the area I highly recommended checking it out, it a perfect place for ladies night!



After exploring all of the stores we went to the petting zoo in Gardner Village. Amber and Kerisa had a lot of fun playing with the animals. It was fun to see them and take pictures. Overall I had a wonderful relaxing weekend. I am so thankful for the Ashby family and their hospitality, they are so great and I love spending time in their home.

Blast from the Past

Last summer was my first summer up here at BYU-Idaho and I had the best apartment! With the 4th of July weekend I decided to make a much needed escape from Rexburg and studying. This has been a rough semester all around and I have really "hit the books". So i decided to go visit the Reyna's in Provo, Utah.

With classes ending so early on the Thursday at 9:30 a.m. I decided to beat the holiday traffic and leave Rexburg in the morning. It was a nice drive down to Provo and I got to spend the evening with Erika and Ephraim, we had a great time visiting, going to dinner, buying fireworks, eating ice cream and then playing with the sparklers! It is so nice to have such great friends to go visit during a long weekend!

SNAP, CRACKLE AND POP ON THE SAND.

REXBURG, Idaho--Local college students purchase fireworks and create a spectacular firework display late Saturday night in the St. Anthony Dunes.

A group of adventurous Georgia boys purchased arm fulls of explosives in preparation for a pyrotechnic show for local college friends.

News spread quickly of a personal fireworks show and by 10p.m. the sand dunes were dotted with eager spectators awaiting the first launch of the night.



"There were people doing there own bonfires all around our group, some of them were even playing with fireworks of their own." said Jillian Cline, BYU-I student, "It was funny because after a few of our groups fireworks launched everyone else around us surrendered and just started watching our fireworks go off. People started clapping and cheering, it was fun to see such enthusiastic reactions and a great firework show RIGHT OVER OUR HEADS!"



The display was very colorful, with red, green, blue, purple and yellow fireworks. After the impressive finally the crowd was graced with the musical styling of Drew Jones on his guitar.

A trip to the BIG city.

With a population of 57,133 residents it is the largest city in eastern Idaho. What is Idaho Falls? Correct! Saturday morning came with beautiful sky's and a promise of a warm summer day. It would have been a crime to stay indoors, what is life without a spontaneous outing? Not a life worth living, so I called one of my old roommates Stacey to go on a trip to the Big city of Idaho Falls!

While in the city we started by shopping! First with Kohl's and ending with The Grand Teton Mall. It was so fun chatting and playing in all the stores after tiring our selfs out from shopping; we decided to top the evening off at one of my favorite restaurants for an early birthday celebration! Yeah for OLIVE GARDEN!!! We ordered strawberry daiquiris (virgin of course), baked eggplant, salads and for dessert two decadent Chocolate dishes(a torte de chocolate and a black tie mouse cake).
This was a scrumptious dinner and a lot of fun, let the birthday festivities continue!!!!





After dinner, being dangerously full we decided to go to the falls across from the Idaho Falls temple to walk of our delicious dinner so that we could sit for the 30 min drive back to Rexburg. I am so glad i thought to bring my camera to capture the fun of the day!
